The First Doctor's Visit

Our first visit to the doctors office for Baby No Name was Monday morning. Of course Mason had jury duty and wasn't going to be able to come. My brother in law and I were giving Mason all kinds of excuses to use, and all of them were lies. Mason decided to be honest and try to get out of it by telling them that our first prenatal exam for our first baby was the same day. The request had to get approved by the judge before he could be excused. They would then send a card in the mail excusing Mason from jury duty if the judge approved. Which we didn't get until Monday afternoon (not helpful). So Mason had to go to court, where they informed him that he in fact had been excused. I'm so glad about that, he really wanted to be there. So Baby No Name, your first lesson is that, honesty really is the best policy.

So to the doctor we went! Although we only had about a 30 min wait, we were still there for just over two hours. Talk to the doctor, get examined, talk to the doctor, wait for the ultrasound, get the ultrasound, wait for a quick word from the doctor, run out the door to shovel in the first food we see. I'm not allowed to wash Mason's work clothes anymore, darn that bad luck. But most importantly, Baby No Name has a very strong heart rate (170) which we were able to hear and see. According to the technician, our baby is PERFECT. But of course we already knew that.

As for me, I only have four pregnancy symptoms remaining, constipation, gas bubbles, 3am bathroom breaks and constant exhaustion. On that note, I'm off to bed after a SMALL glass of water.

Very exciting!! Isn't the first visit so reassuring and fun to actually get to see and hear everything and know things are going good!?! :-)
